Maker Mini: Intro to Chain Mail Weaving

Join us at MAKE Roanoke for another FREE Maker Mini, this one taught by Alex M.!

In this Maker Mini, students will learn about:

• Where to get chain mail weaving supplies

• Differences between metals

• How to pick the right rings for your projects

• Tips and Tricks for working with chain and scale mail

This Mini is an informational overview without a hands-on component, but attendees will leave with a printed handout and a bag of steel jump rings to get started on their first chain mail project!

This class is suitable for beginners, and is recommended for ages 10+, anyone under 18 must be accompanied by an adult. This event is open to the public, you do NOT need to be a MAKE Roanoke member to attend!

Please note that MAKE Roanoke is an active workshop:

• All participants must have a signed waiver on file. If the participant is a minor, the waiver must be signed by a parent or court-appointed legal guardian. Waivers can be filled out ahead of time at https://mkroa.org/waiver

• Children who are not participating in the event are not permitted in the space. 

• Closed toed shoes are required in the space at all times by everyone, regardless of age or participation in an event. No sandals, crocs, or bare feet.

• You may be asked to remove or tuck in dangling jewelry, lanyards, etc for safety.

• Depending on the activity, other dress code rules may apply.
