MEMBERS ONLY Confidence Builder - Making a foot stool from scratch Class

Intimidated by power tools? Saws have you shaking in your shoes? This class is for you! A class geared specifically for those looking for confidence in power tool use, saws, and air tools.

We will be making this footstool from scratch! Learning to use a miter saw, power drills, make pocket holes, and use an air stapler. No sewing skills required! This upholstery class will give you the confidence you need to get your ideas into usable products. We will learn safety, proper use of tools, measurements, and how to improvise or start over when things go wrong.

Again, this class is geared for total novices! Zero experience necessary.

You may bring your own fabric if you wish, but what is in the photo will be provided.

You have the option to purchase your own legs for the footstool, or the 6" legs featured in the photo ($20 additional cost).

NOTE: Please do not wear long sleeves in the woodshop, or have sleeves you can push up.

All materials, taxes, and fees are covered in the base class price of $60 (+ $20 for legs). This class is suitable for beginners, and is recommended for ages 18+, anyone under 18 must be accompanied by an adult. 

Please note that MAKE Roanoke is an active workshop:

• All participants must have a signed waiver on file. If the participant is a minor, the waiver must be signed by a parent or court-appointed legal guardian. Waivers can be filled out ahead of time at https://mkroa.org/waiver

• Children who are not participating in the event are not permitted in the space. 

• Closed toed shoes are required in the space at all times by everyone, regardless of age or participation in an event. No sandals, crocs, or bare feet.

• You may be asked to remove or tuck in dangling jewelry, lanyards, etc for safety.

• Depending on the activity, other dress code rules may apply.

Refund Policy

• Tickets are fully refundable with at least 48 hour notice from the class start time.

• Tickets can be transferred to other people assuming they meet the criteria (i.e. a member ticket can only be transferred to another MAKE Roanoke member).

• If MAKE Roanoke has to cancel the class for any reason, refunds will be issued automatically.

• If MAKE Roanoke has to reschedule the class for any reason, refunds will be offered to anyone who wishes, regardless of the 48 hour notice.
